and the years after college that still seemed like college
|
|
I went to the University of Central Arkansas in Conway from 1988 through 1991. I graduated with a degree in Marketing. The pictures below, several provided by Mike Waters, are mostly before I met Shelley. He gave me several more, but I don't think I want to post those. I was a Phi Sigma Kappa at UCA and just about everyone in these pictures are Phi Sigs also. For the last year of college and about 3 years after, I lived in a house we called the Shack. If you went to UCA in that time period, you knew where the Shack was. We had lots of theme parties throughout the years, 70's, togas, Halloween, etc. It was a pretty big house and by the time we left there was at least one broken window in every room, most of them dancing mishaps. I had many roommates come and go, but Tim was there the entire time. I could write a book about the experiences we had there, but the pictures will tell the story. At least the PG portion of the story.

This is later at the same party. It's me trying to take care of my Phi Sig little brother Tim Mckenna |

This is what happens when you leave the house when all your friends are staying home on a weekend night. That would be my room, and on my bed would be all our living room furniture. |

This was our first 70s party at 'the shack'. Not sure what year. |

Our second 70's party at the house. This one in '95. I wish you could see my tight pleather pants. |

Hey Rodney, what kind of party is this? |

This was our Halloween party in 1993. What is Charlie Brown holding? Not sure what it is, just that everyone drank from it later that night. |

It was before I met my Sweet Polly Purebread - Shelley. |

The infamous Boat float. Went up in flames on the track during the homecoming game. They had to stop the game till the smoke cleared. |

House Christmas of 1994. It was 'everybody has to wear a hat, Christmas'. Pictured are the housemates, Mike, Mike's friend 'high school Mike', me, Tim, and Kyla. |

A tradition of the late eighties. Stopping the fan with your tongue. Here English Cook demonstrates the proper technique. Most of the dust had been licked off already. |

I finally met Shelley in 1996. Things get a little tamer from here on out. |

Our first real date. A float trip on the Buffalo with all my friends. See how she calmed me down right away? |
