What's New with the Youngbloods

The Youngbloods take a cruise on Norwegian Cruise Line.

We went to Costa Maya, Mexico, Guatemala, Belize, and Cozumel on a 7 day cruise over the Thanksgiving holiday.  The Markham's and Cook's came with us.

Hayden really enjoyed the pool games.

Tim had a gorilla suit for 2009, it was a big hit. All the party kids.  At least the ones that would sit still for a picture.

Hayden turns 6

Hayden's 6th birthday party was at the bowling alley.  Several friends and several cousins were there to enjoy bowling and pizza.

Of course Kinley was at the party.  They've been 'friends' for a long time now.

Spring Break 2009 -  We went on our first family cruise!  We got up at 4:00am on Saturday and drove to New Orleans.  Everything went smooth and we arrived early, parked and got in line to board.  All was good until they asked for our ID's.  Of course Shelley and I brought our passports, but apparently the kids forgot to bring their birth certificates.  With our vacation in jeopardy, the supervisor decided that the kids looked enough like us to let us board.  More to come later on going through customs to get home.

This is the port at Progresso, Mexico.  We took a 40 minute bus ride with our group to get to our resort on the beach.  The water was very cold in the pool and the ocean, but it didn't slow down the kids.

The food wasn't great, but they had a lot of tooty fruity drinks at the open bar that made up for it.  10:30 am in Mexico is actually equal to 5:00 pm in the states so it was ok to enjoy the open bar.

This lady stood completely still and Hayden was amazed that she was real.  We gave him a dollar to put in her jar and he touched her finger.  She moved and scared him to death.

One of the many towel animals left in our cabin.  Still not sure what Hayden is looking at.

This is a good picture of our cabin.  That's pretty much all of it.

These are all taken in Cozumel.

The water is very blue at the beach in Cozumel.  We rode paddle boats, kayaks, and played on the water trampoline at this resort.

They also had an open bar and good food.  Again we had to invoke the '5:00 somewhere rule'.

The only time we took the kids to the dinner Hayden pooped out early.  8:15 is a little late for the kids to start dinner.

The trip home was a smooth ride until we got to customs.  They didn't like the fact that we had no proof that the kids were ours.  We had to go to the back room and let them interview the kids.  Maybe the kids learned their lesson and will remember to bring their birth certificates next time.
